Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect

Quiz answers. When you take a quiz, we record the answers you click and the order you click them in. We use these answers to compute your result and, in aggregate, to improve the quizzes.

Session identifier. When you begin a quiz, your browser is assigned a short-lived random identifier stored in session storage. It expires when you close the tab. This identifier is not tied to your name, email, address, or any other directly-identifying information.

Email address (optional). If a quiz includes an email-capture step and you choose to provide your email, we store it associated with your session so we can send you your results or follow-up content. You can skip this step on any quiz that doesn't require it.

Technical information. We log standard web server data including your IP address (stored as a non-reversible hash, not the raw address), country (derived from your IP), browser user agent, referring URL, and the time of your visit. We use this for analytics, fraud prevention, and bot detection.

Cookies and similar technologies. See Section 4 below for details on cookies and third-party tracking.

2. How we use your information

• To deliver the quiz experience and compute your result.
• To improve our quizzes by analyzing aggregate response patterns.
• To send you your results or related content if you provided your email.
• To measure traffic, performance, and conversion (via Google Analytics).
• To display advertising (via Google AdSense and partners).
• To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, automated traffic, and security incidents.
• To comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests from authorities.

3. Sharing of your information

We do not sell your name, email address, or other directly identifying information to third parties.

We share limited data with service providers who help us operate the site:

• Google LLC — Google Analytics (traffic measurement), Google AdSense (advertising), and Google Cloud services (infrastructure). Google may set its own cookies and process data according to its privacy policy.
• Vercel — hosts and serves the site.
• Neon — provides our database.
• Cloudflare (if/when enabled) — bot protection and challenge service.
• Sentry (if/when enabled) — error monitoring.

We may share information when required by law, in response to valid legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Cent Surveys, our users, or the public.

4. Cookies, advertising, and Google AdSense

Cent Surveys participates in the Google AdSense program. Google and third-party advertising vendors use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. This includes Google's use of advertising cookies that enable Google and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our sites and other sites on the Internet.

You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or by visiting aboutads.info. You can also opt out of our use of advertising cookies on this site via our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page.

We use Google Consent Mode v2 to manage advertising and analytics signals. U.S. visitors default to granted. When you opt out, all four Consent Mode categories (ad_storage,analytics_storage,ad_user_data,ad_personalization) switch to denied and the choice persists in your browser's local storage.

Our advertising partners are listed in our ads.txt file, which we maintain for advertising transparency.

5. Your California rights (CPRA)

California residents have the following rights regarding their personal information under the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA):

• The right to know what categories of personal information we collect and the categories of third parties with whom we share it.
• The right to access the specific pieces of personal information we hold about you.
• The right to request deletion of your personal information.
• The right to correct inaccurate personal information.
• The right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise this, visit our Do Not Sell or Share page.
• The right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

To exercise these rights, email us at the address in Section 10. We will verify your request and respond within 45 days, extendable by an additional 45 days where reasonably necessary.

6. Data retention

Session identifiers are stored only in your browser tab and are not retained server-side beyond the session. Quiz responses, IP hashes, and aggregate analytics data are retained for up to 24 months for analytics and improvement purposes, after which they are archived or deleted. Email addresses you provide are retained until you request deletion.

7. Security

We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest, hashed IP storage, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's privacy

Cent Surveys is intended for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us so we can delete it.

9. International users

The site is operated from the United States and intended for U.S. residents. If you access the site from outside the U.S., you understand that your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top and, for material changes, post a notice on the homepage. Your continued use of the site after the update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
